Voter residency or registration requirements of 20 days or more are in place in 40 states, and 27 of those require 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>A WMUR Granite State Poll released on July 21, 2015, found that a majority, 57%, of Granite Staters support this law, 28% opposed it, and 14% are neutral or don\u2019t know enough to say.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The New Hampshire Senate voted on 09\/16\/2015 as follows:<\/strong><br \/>\nQuestion\/Motion: Notwithstanding the Governor&#8217;s veto shall the bill SB179 become law?<br \/>\nYeas: 13<br \/>\nAvard (R)<br \/>\nBirdsell (R)<br \/>\nBoutin (R)<br \/>\nBradley (R)<br \/>\nCarson (R)<br \/>\nCataldo (R)<br \/>\nDaniels (R)<br \/>\nForrester (R)<br \/>\nMorse (R)<br \/>\nPrescott (R)<br \/>\nReagan (R)<br \/>\nSanborn (R)<br \/>\nStiles (R) \t<\/p>\n<p>Nays: 11<br \/>\nD&#8217;Allesandro (D)<br \/>\nFeltes (D)<br \/>\nFuller Clark (D)<br \/>\nHosmer (D)<br \/>\nKelly (D)<br \/>\nLasky (D)<br \/>\nLittle (R)<br \/>\nPierce (D)<br \/>\nSoucy (D)<br \/>\nWatters (D)<br \/>\nWoodburn (D)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Hampshire Senate voted to sustain the Governor&#8217;s veto of SB 179 Sb 179 would have required a person to live in New Hampshire for 30 days before registering to vote.
