{"id":1962,"date":"2017-07-14T16:23:48","date_gmt":"2017-07-14T20:23:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/?p=1962"},"modified":"2017-07-15T11:46:29","modified_gmt":"2017-07-15T15:46:29","slug":"gst-mid-year-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/gst-mid-year-report\/","title":{"rendered":"GST Mid-Year Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Granite State Taxpayers (GST)<\/em> Activity Report and Status on Various Issues as of June 30, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>President&#8217;s Tax Plan Proposal <\/em><br \/>\nWe have supported the plan and presented a summary of it on our website and in email to our members.<\/p>\n<p><em>Election Integrity<\/em><br \/>\n<em>GST<\/em> worked to support election integrity and passage of Senate Bill 3 (SB3).<br \/>\nSB3 requires voters to be residents and provide documentation that they are (just like 49 other states and DC).<br \/>\n<em>GST<\/em> promoted SB3 on our website, in emails, speaking engagements, and testimony to NH Senate and House.<br \/>\n<em>GST<\/em> was the only group that testified in support of SB3 before the NH Senate Election Law Committee. <\/p>\n<p><em>Election Fraud Myths (&#8220;There Is No Voter Fraud.&#8221;)<\/em><br \/>\nSB3 opponents deride the idea of \u201cwidespread voter fraud in New Hampshire.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>GST<\/em> countered with the following statements:<br \/>\n&#8220;We are in an environment in this state where anyone can show up on Election Day, register using an out-of-state license, and provide no proof at all, the consequence of which of course makes fraud impossible to find.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8220;Practices that most  would consider fraudulent were perfectly legal under New Hampshire law.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u201cThis State knowingly allows people from other states to vote in our elections, without checking their legitimacy, in quantities large enough to determine the winner. Some legitimately call that widespread fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Right to Work (Did not pass the NH House)<\/em><br \/>\nRight To Work was supported on our website and in email to members and Legislators.<\/p>\n<p><em>NH Budget (Balanced, no new taxes, tax cuts, replenishes Rainy Day Fund)<\/em><br \/>\nBudget supported on our website and in email to members and Legislators.<\/p>\n<p><em>Work Requirement for Food Stamp Eligibility (SB7)<\/em><br \/>\nThis Work Requirement was supported on our website and in email to members and Legislators.<\/p>\n<p><em>Educational Choice (SB193)<\/em><br \/>\nEducational Choice was supported on our website and in testimony to Legislators.<\/p>\n<p><em>Casino Gambling (SB242)<\/em><br \/>\nCasino Gambling was opposed on our website.<\/p>\n<p>Ray F.
