{"id":2737,"date":"2018-04-30T07:55:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-30T11:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/?p=2737"},"modified":"2018-04-30T07:58:11","modified_gmt":"2018-04-30T11:58:11","slug":"pass-education-savings-accounts-sb-193","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/pass-education-savings-accounts-sb-193\/","title":{"rendered":"Pass Education Savings Accounts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The NH House will vote May 2, 2018 on SB 193 for creating Education Savings Accounts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/bill_status\/billText.aspx?sy=2018&amp;id=914&amp;txtFormat=html\" target=\"_blank\">SB 193 would establish education savings accounts for children between 5 and 20 years of age.<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nParents of an eligible student can receive a grant from a scholarship organization to provide an education in science, mathematics, language, government, history, health, reading, writing, spelling, the history of the constitutions of New Hampshire and the United States, and an exposure to and appreciation of art and music. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/2017\/04\/17\/gst-secretary-testifies-for-sb193\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>GST<\/em> Has Supported Senate Bill 193 for over a year.<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nThe bill has passed the Senate, but House Finance has made attempts to make it less comprehensive, or kill it.<br \/>\nHouse Finance recently voted to send SB193 for Interim Study which kills the bill for the year.<br \/>\nWe need to overturn that recommendation and pass SB193! Ask your State Reps to support SB193. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolchoicenh.org\/support-esas-today\/\" target=\"_blank\">Click here for a School Choice web portal to contact the Representatives in your district.<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nYou can send an email (which can be personalized) directly to your own State Reps.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;This would give parents access to the state&#8217;s adequate education funds for their children, which they can spend on private schools or home school materials&#8221;, said <em>GST<\/em> Secretary Dan McGuire. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>GST<\/em> supports programs that enhance competition in the provision of services, including education.<\/p>\n<p>Contact your Legislators and tell them to support passage of SB193!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NH House will vote May 2, 2018 on SB 193 for creating Education Savings Accounts.
