Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) Are Now In House Bill 1636.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education Savings Accounts (SB193) passed the Senate in March 2017.<\/strong>
\nGST<\/em> has supported Senate Bill 193 and ESAs since then.<\/a>
\nHouse Finance worked to make SB193 less comprehensive and finally recommended Interim Study to kill it.
\nThe House voted 170 to 159 FOR Interim Study<\/a> and voted 172 to 165 AGAINST Reconsidering Interim Study.<\/a>

The Senate then added the content of SB193 into HB1636, a charter school bill, and passed it 14 to 10.<\/strong>
\nHB 1636, amended to include Educational Savings Accounts,<\/a> now goes to the House for consideration.
