The provisions of the bill are suspended until states that cumulatively possess a majority of the electoral votes have enacted the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact in substantially the same form and the enactments by such states have taken effect in each state.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>GST<\/em> Opposes HB 1531 because we and the public expect transparency in election results.<\/strong><br \/>\nHB 1531 would prohibit public release of the number of votes cast in New Hampshire Presidential elections until after the time set by law for the meeting and voting of presidential electors has passed in all states.<br \/>\nHB 1531 is also conditioned upon the national popular Vote Interstate Compact, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/goodbye-voting-for-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>which GST opposes.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The House Election Law Committee met 1\/28\/20 to hear testimony. <\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HB1531Testimony200128.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a> to read the position submitted by <em>GST<\/em> Chairman Ray Chadwick.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/house\/members\/wml.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here to find your Legislators.<\/a> Tell them to oppose this legislation!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Posted by: <em>GST<\/em> Chairman Ray Chadwick<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GST Submitted Testimony Against HB 1531 which would keep Presidential Election results secret.
