Mel (\u201cLow Taxes are the Result of Low Spending!\u201d) Thomson.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We inform, educate and motivate New Hampshire taxpayers, lobby the legislature on their behalf.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Articles of Agreement for <em>Granite State Taxpayers<\/em> were filed on March 26, 1990:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/GSTFilingPg1-scaled.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/GSTFilingPg1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1870\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2862\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/GSTFilingPg2-scaled.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/GSTFilingPg2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1872\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2860\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The filing included the following statement on why <em>Granite State Taxpayers<\/em> was established:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>The purpose of the Association is to manage the growth of all forms of government spending and taxation. The Association believes that the method of government budget setting should be based on available income rather than on spending desires, and that the tide of government taxation should be turned and that New Hampshire Taxpayers should resolve to rededicate themselves to controlling their government rather than being controlled by it through excessive government spending and taxation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>That rationale and purpose stated 30 years ago remains or equal of greater importance today.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Taxpayers often have no particular government spending interest. They deal with government at tax time. In contrast, advocates for specific spending items are focused and constantly working to increase that spending. <em>Granite State Taxpayers<\/em> advocates for Taxpayers&#8221;, said <em>GST<\/em> Chairman Ray Chadwick. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/GSTOriginalFiling900326.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for a copy of the Articles of Agreement for <em>Granite State Taxpayers<\/em>.<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Governor Thomson and Senator Lovejoy are lauded as <em>GST<\/em> Founders, but we can see 59 others also signed the Articles of Agreement.
