{"id":6103,"date":"2020-09-07T18:28:03","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T22:28:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/?p=6103"},"modified":"2022-10-19T02:31:21","modified_gmt":"2022-10-19T06:31:21","slug":"lawsuit-challenges-nh-absentee-voting-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/lawsuit-challenges-nh-absentee-voting-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawsuit Challenges NH Absentee Voting Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It seems like Democrats will do or say anything to relax voting laws for their benefit.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe latest attack on election integrity is to weaken protections for Absentee Voting in NH. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>GST<\/em> has previously commented on:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/?s=voters\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">NH Democrats sued the State of NH to bring back &#8220;Drive-By voting.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/us-house-democrats-propose-to-take-over-state-election-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats proposed changes to state voting laws:<\/a><br \/>\n<em>to allow all eligible individuals to register to vote on the same day that they vote.<br \/>\nto forbid requiring any form of identification to obtain an absentee ballot.<br \/>\nto automatically mail absentee ballots and balloting materials to all registered voters.<br \/>\nto allow voters to designate another person to return the ballot (ballot harvesting).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/granitestatetaxpayers.org\/gst\/mail-in-voting-isnt-absentee-voting\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Mail-In Voting means giving ballots to everyone on the checklist.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leg.state.nv.us\/App\/NELIS\/REL\/32nd2020Special\/Bill\/7150\/Text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assembly Bill 4 in Nevada, which provides for:<\/a><br \/>\n<em>all active voters to receive a mail ballot, whether they\u2019ve requested one or not.<br \/>\nballots received without a postmark for up to three days after Election Day to be considered valid.<br \/>\nmultiple ballots to be submitted in a single envelope with only a single signature required on the envelope.<br \/>\nindividuals to sign a ballot on another persons behalf.<br \/>\n collection and turning in of ballots by people not related to the voter (ballot harvesting).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Hampshire has rejected &#8220;Mail-In Voting&#8221; in favor of expanded Absentee Voting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clearinghouse.net\/doc\/110358\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has filed suit against the NH Absentee Ballot Process.<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe suit argues the NH Absentee Ballot process, as amended due to Covid, is unconstitutional because:<br \/>\n<em>it prohibits delivery of ballots by agents (ballot harvesting).<br \/>\nit requires voters to put postage on the envelope to return their ballot (a poll tax).<br \/>\nit requires that only ballots returned to election officials by election day may be counted.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Like Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s HR 6800, the AFT lawsuit is stated to be due to the COVID-19 pandemic:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;The burden that these requirements place on voters is severe.
