NH Senator Andy Sanborn will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2016 GST Biennial Meeting.
In the NH Senate, Andy has been a strong voice in support of lower spending, lower taxes, and reduced regulation and against government inefficiency and waste.
The New Hampshire Union Leader on October 26, 2016 called Andy Sanborn “A voice for NH taxpayers.”
Click here to read the Union Leader endorsement of Sanborn, which said:
“There’s a lot of credit to go around for New Hampshire’s recent business tax cuts, and Andy Sanborn deserves as much as anyone. Sanborn has been the Senate’s strongest and most consistent voice for business tax relief.
He’s running for reelection in Senate District 9, again facing Democrat Lee Nyquist. We endorse Sanborn.
Sanborn was first elected in 2010 after leading the groundswell of opposition to the LLC tax tucked into the state budget by then-Sen. Majority Leader Maggie Hassan. In his first two terms, Sanborn sometimes clashed with his Republican colleagues, reluctantly backing compromises while pushing for tax reform.
Last year, he and the Senate Republican Caucus were united in making tax cuts a priority. Sanborn sponsored the Business Enterprise Tax cut, cosponsored the Business Profits Tax reduction, and led the Senate floor debate on both. When Gov. Maggie Hassan vetoed the state budget in opposition to business tax cuts, Sanborn and his colleagues stood their ground. After a pointless three-month standoff, Hassan blinked, and State House Democrats joined the GOP in overriding her veto.
Sanborn has also worked across the aisle, joining Democrat Sylvia Larsen to update the state’s equal pay law in 2014. Sanborn would continue to get results in the state Senate.”
