Election Integrity Status

by | Sep 7, 2021 | Opinion, Special Alerts

Following is a current status of election integrity issues in NH and DC.

US SUPREME COURT DECISIONS TO REMEMBER
One strong and entirely legitimate state interest is the prevention of fraud. Ensuring that every vote is cast freely, without intimidation or undue influence, is also a valid and important state interest. SCOTUS, Brnovich v Democratic National Committee, 7/1/21
We have … noted … that the States have the power to require that voters be bona fide residents of the relevant political subdivision. SCOTUS, Dunn v Blumstein, 3/21/72

WHAT WE NEED TO ACHIEVE
Revise current NH election law to make our voting system simple to understand and execute, resistant to fraud, and available exclusively to residents of New Hampshire
Counter the Democrat agenda to make elections easier to manipulate and win.

GOALS FOR 2021 – 2022 LEGISLATION IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Require New Hampshire ID to obtain ballot. Non NH ID must do new registration.
Registration requires same types of ID as NH Driver license.
Proof of residency/domicile required by close of polls on election day (not after) to vote
End identity and residency/domicile affidavits.
End “temporary absence” absentee voting for residents of other states, require ID.

THE DEMOCRAT/PROGRESSIVE CAMPAIGN FOR LESS SECURE ELECTIONS
Democrats have been working for years to decrease election integrity by “increasing voter access and participation.” The pandemic provided an excuse for legislation and lawsuits to loosen election laws. They’re working to make those changes permanent.

Legal Efforts/Lawsuits by Democrat Party and Allies in many (esp. swing) states
Novel standing and legal arguments, some successful (e.g. NH District Court SB3 case)
Various NH Democratic Party lawsuits against NH to allow out of state residents to vote.
American Federation of Teachers 8/31/20 suit for NH mail out voting, ballot harvesting.
DNC 2016 lawsuit to force Arizona to allow ballot harvesting and out of precinct voting.

Continue the Democrat/Progressive Action Plan Used for the 2020 Elections
Allegations of irregularities and unconstitutional changes in state laws were ignored.
Media ignored any allegations of fraud and worked to suppress them.
Social media companies shutting down or de-platforming people and other media.
Time Magazine (2/4/21) published “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election”, about “a well-funded cabal of powerful people, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it.

Legislative Agenda HR1/S1 (per Sen. Klobuchar to be in $3.5T Reconciliation Bill)
Federalize election process in the states, impose mandates, implement the worst 2020 changes in election rules and further erode or eliminate basic security protocols.
15 days of early voting, automatic voter registration, same-day and online registration.
Ban state voter ID laws. Mandate allowing voting without ID by merely signing affidavits.
Require allowing 16 and 17 year-olds to register and (with no ID) likely vote.
No-fault absentee ballots, ban witness signature or notarization requirements ballots; require accepting absentee ballots up to 10 days after Election Day.
Require states to allow ballot harvesting so that any third parties deliver ballots.
Transfer redistricting rights from legislatures to “independent” commissions.

Expand the Voter Base (per Sen. Durbin to be in $3.5T Reconciliation Bill)
Expanded voting rights for convicted felons
“Pathway to citizenship” for DACA, temporary protected status and farm workers.
Open borders and un-vetted Afghan refugees.

National Popular Vote Interstate Compact
If passed by enough states to control 270 Electoral College votes, it would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate with the most popular votes from all 50 states and DC.
Has 195 EC votes: CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA
Passed one chamber in AR, AZ, ME, MI, MN, NC, NV, OK, VA with 88 electoral votes.
Clinton got 6,006,568 more votes than Trump in California and New York alone.

Expand (pack) the US Supreme Court
Aside from ending the Constitution, expanding the Court with six liberal justices would ensure more expansive assessment of voting rights and restricted rules for security.

HOW DO WE FIGHT BACK?

Talk! Talk! Talk! Make people aware of the threat this poses to our democratic system
Contact our Senators and Congressmen to protest their promised votes to support the Reconciliation bill. (Don’t let them say that their constituents were for it.)
Prepare lawsuits against the election law changes as an infringement on states’ rights.
Join the March 3, 2021 letter by 20 State Attorneys General protesting HR.1
Prepare to bring suit in the Supreme Court against Congressional court packing plans.
Secure our New Hampshire elections through steps above.
Strengthen the Republican majority in Concord.
