BARRINGTON – George Lovejoy, the former state senator who championed tax and spending cap efforts across New Hampshire for years, has died. He was 83.
Lovejoy and former Gov. Meldrim Thomson founded Granite State Taxpayers, based on the principle of low spending means low taxes. Lovejoy also served as chairman of the New Hampshire Advantage, continuing his efforts to keep taxes and spending in check for the Granite State.
