GST Recommends the 2026 – 2027 House Budget Proposal.
The upcoming budget cycle is shaped by a challenging economic forecast and questions surrounding federal program funding.
In response, both the Governor and the House of Representatives have proposed budgets with similar expected federal funds.
The House, however, has taken a more conservative approach. Its proposal increases Other Funds spending by $19 million less than the Governors’ and, more importantly, reduces spending from the General Fund and Education Trust Fund by $88.8 million. The Governors’ plan increases spending in those categories by $249.1 million.
Focusing on lower taxes and a more realistic view of current fiscal constraints, Granite State Taxpayers supports the House budget proposal.
