Granite State Taxpayers Urges Legislature to Pass CACR 12

Concord, NH – Granite State Taxpayers urges New Hampshire legislators to pass the education funding constitutional amendment, CACR 12, and send it to the voters.

Since the first Claremont decision, the NH Supreme Court has encroached on our elected officials’ responsibility for education. CACR 12 will put that responsibility back where it belongs, in the legislature where it had been since the founding of the State. Some say that the current amendment is not perfect, but it is significantly better than the status quo. For almost two decades we’ve struggled with this issue. The current makeup of the legislature combined with the support of the Governor creates a unique opportunity to solve this impasse. The time to act is now! Pass it and let the people decide.

Granite State Taxpayers is New Hampshire’s oldest statewide taxpayer organization. Founded in 1990 by former Governor Mel Thomson and former State Senator George Lovejoy, our mission is to inform, educate and motivate New Hampshire taxpayers and to lobby the legislature on their behalf.
