Repeal of the Interest & Dividends tax moved us ahead of low-tax powerhouse Florida on the Tax Foundation’s 2026 State Tax Competitiveness Index. Just ahead of us now is South Dakota with a sales tax but no business income tax.
Granite State Taxpayers was one of many organizations that put in great work to get I&D repealed. Many thanks to all involved, and especially to all the NH legislators who work tirelessly to restrain spending. As one of GST’s founders said, the key to low taxes is low spending.
This advance will help NH attract business investment and associated jobs. It will also help NH retain retirees and keep their spending here to boost our economy.
