Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) Are Now In House Bill 1636.
Education Savings Accounts (SB193) passed the Senate in March 2017.
GST has supported Senate Bill 193 and ESAs since then.
House Finance worked to make SB193 less comprehensive and finally recommended Interim Study to kill it.
The House voted 170 to 159 FOR Interim Study and voted 172 to 165 AGAINST Reconsidering Interim Study.

The Senate then added the content of SB193 into HB1636, a charter school bill, and passed it 14 to 10.
HB 1636, amended to include Educational Savings Accounts, now goes to the House for consideration.
