The New Hampshire House of Representatives will vote on the budget on Thursday June 22, 2017.
Granite State Taxpayers supports passage of that budget.

“We support balanced budgets with no new or raised taxes, and prefer those that reduce taxes,” said GST Chairman Ray Chadwick. “The Conference Committee budget meets those criteria.”

The budget proposed includes:
Realistic revenue forecasts that have been reduced several times in the budget process
Continuation of the business tax reductions that have lead to economic growth
Elimination of the Electricity Consumption Tax to reduce business and home energy costs
Spending increases held to a level reflecting inflation and population growth
Funds the State Rainy Day fund to a healthy $100 million (from $9 million)
Funds efforts to combat opioid addiction, reform the DCYF and promote STEM education

“The budget reflects initiatives that the Governor campaigned, and was elected, on, and meets the criteria required for GST support,” said Chadwick. “It’s time to finalize the budget discussion and pass the budget.”

GST urges New Hampshire House Representatives to vote Yes for the Committee of Conference budget.
